Lokhmaty Island is one of the Islands of the Chivyrkui Bay. Unusually beautiful, with rich vegetation, it immediately attracts the attention of tourists.
Golyy (naked) Island got its name because of the lack of vegetation on it, but it is not true, there is a larch forest on it. The island is difficult to visit due to the steepness of its shores. It is possible to land on it, but only on the southern gentle side.
Moreover, archaeological sites were found on the island. The ancient constructions of the iron age were discovered here. In the southern part of the island the remains of Kurykan structures were found, and in the Eastern – Parking and burial grounds. In 1988, 20 structures were found, and 15 of these structures had a circular shape ranging in size from half a meter to eighty centimeters. The remaining 5 structures had an oval shape and the size reached up to 1 meter.
Now this unusual island is home to a large population of gray gulls. Earlier it was inhabited by cormorants.
